Community Involvement and Awards
ABLE believes that the space program is an investment in America's future and strives to educate and inspire a variety of audiences. Most recently ABLE donated a $30,000 autoclave chamber to a local college as part of an ongoing commitment to improving education in space and engineering sciences. The company promotes space careers to several youth organizations and participates in "Wings of Freedom."  ABLE works with the intern programs of local schools to expose students to careers in the sapce industry. ABLE also organizes regular plant tours as part of career or science programs at elementary and high schools, earning recognition from La Colina Junior High School in 1994 and a YMCA Patron of Youth Award in 1988. The company also gives yearly lectures at surrounding colleges on technology advances and job opportunities. ABLE increases awareness of the space industry and technology transfer through lectures at civic and community organizations, earning recognition in 1997 from the Santa Barbara Host of Lions International and the Gilda Resource Community Environmental Council in 1998. B also recognized ABLE for their contributions to the community.
